These pages have been designed to help you understand the French
concept "Reinforcement of African Peacekeeping capabilities" (
RECAMP) following the current exercise cycle, the fourth of
that type, which will be put into practice in the Economic Community
Of West African States or ECOWAS.
Innovations in the RECAMP IV cycle are of utmost importance and will
result in a new concept that will be soon available. This time, the
Sub-region will implement a planning process on a specific theme and
scenario with a view to set up and to deploy an African Peace-keeping
Force. Three countries will be particularly involved in this RECAMP
training : Nigeria, headquarters of the ECOWAS (Abuja), Ghana where
the political-military seminar, real symposium on peace-keeping
operations, will take place, Benin where the Field Training Exercise
will be played.
This site gives all the participants of RECAMP IV the opportunity to
get familiar with the major events of this 2003-2204 cycle, the
details on seminars and conferences, the different speeches of higher
officials, press articles and any other information of interest to
follow this fascinating adventure.
